Mt. Kailash is considered the most sacred destination in Tibet; there is a steady flow of Hindus as well as Buddhists to this holy place every year. It is not permitted to climb Mt. Kailash, but one can undertake a 52 km total with 38 km trek circumambulation around the mountain.
This is a journey by a chartered helicopter. Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then to Simikot. At Simikot, make a charter helicopter flight to Hilsa, the place closest to China border and drive to Lake Mansarovar across the open spaces of the Tibetan Plateau. Then take the fascinating trip to Mt. Kailash and make a circumambulation around the base of the mountain.
On the tour of Mt. Kailash visitors can bathe in the sacred Mansarovar Lake, with a periphery 88km, depth of 90m and total area of 320 km2. The itinerary is planned so that visitors reach Mansarovar Lake on the full moon day. Asthapavat and Tirthapuri can be visited if pre-arranged. The total journey is 10days/9 nights and the maximum elevation is 5636 m.

Tour Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350m
OUR staff will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The group will be briefed about the tour and final preparations i.e. checking and demonstration of equipment to be used during the tour. Our staff will assist in buying and renting any necessary gear. Overnight stay at Hotel .
Day 02 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing. Fly to Nepalgunj
A city tour guide will take you around the holy sites in the valley, including Pashupati Nath, Jal Narayan, Swayambu Nath in the morning. Then transfer to Kathmandu airport to catch up flight to Nepalgunj. Overnight stay at Hotel .
Day 03 : Fly Simikot- Hilsa. Drive to Purang 3,770m
Early morning flight to Simikot and a helicopter flight to Hilsa. Then cross the Karnali bridge over to Tibet. Drive to Purang (Taklakot). Immigration formalities at the border custom office before Purang. Overnight stay at Hotel
Day 04 : Purang, acclimatization day 3,770m
A day to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude. It is important to stay hydrated (3/4 litres a day) and be extremely aware of one’s physical condition, which the staff will also monitor at all times. The group have the option of hiking which would definitely help pilgrims/trekkers get used to trek conditions for Kailash Parikrama.
Day 05 : Purang to Lake Mansarovar 4,582m. (FULL MOON DAY)
A beautiful drive through the dramatic valleys, the rivers and through the grazing lands of yaks and sheep. The landscape is filled with snow capped peaks rising out of the distant sand dunes. Many Tibetan nomads and traders in their traditional dress inhibit this area. By late afternoon, the drive through the green pastures and massive valleys gives way to the first sighting of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar from Chhesakhang. Walk through the small village of Sherlung and Thugu Gompa on the banks of the holy lake or drive all the way to the western bank for an overnight stay at Chiu Gompa (monastery).
One can visit the lake and enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Gurula Mandhata 7,728m to the south and Kailash to the north.

Day 06 : Lake Mansarovar to Darchen 4,670m. Parikrama / Kora Mt. Kailash, Dirapuk 4,900m
The staff will set up individual bath tents on the banks of Lake Mansarovar for the pilgrims before circumambulating Mount Kailash. A ritual bath at Mansarovar is considered to attain moksha and a drink of its water relinquishes the sins. After lunch, drive north towards Darchen, a village considered the base camp for Kailash. If pre-arranged, one can visit Rakshasi Lake, Astha Parbat, Nandi Parbat and Tirthapuri.
Drive to Sershong. First day of walking around Kailash begins at Tarbuche. Along the way, one passes numerous chortens (stupas), Chukku monastery, the burial site of the 84 mahasiddhas and wonderful views of cascading creeks, streaming waterfalls and the mighty west face of Kailash. After five hours one arrives at the Dirapuk monastery. The north face of Kailash is seen from a distance.
Stay overnight in Guest House
For those Pilgrims not accompanying for the Trek will return back to Darchan by evening and stay Overnight at the Hotel Himalaya or Similar .
Day 07 : Parikrama / Kora Mt. Kailash, Zuthulpuk 4,760m
Long and challenging day of the parikrama. Cross Dolma-La pass 5,636m between two valleys, Yamastal and reach Shiva-sthal, where to symbolize death, pilgrims leave the old clothes, hair or drop of blood in hope that Yamarajan (God of death) will aceept these and allow the pilgrims to be born in spirit to pass Dolma-La. In Buddhism, the pass symbolizes with the goddess Container and in Hinduism to Parvati, wife of Shiva. On reaching the top, Shiva-stal, the offerings are placed and one can meditate. On the way down, one crosses Parvati-stal, Gauri Kunda and reaches Zuthulpuk (the cave of miracles, the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles here) along the river. All along the way, there are wonderful views of high peaks, streams, waterfalls and mountain caves.
** For those Pilgrims not accompanying for the Trek will enjoy various shades of Kaialsh from the base of Kailash. Overnight at the Hotel Himalaya or Similar.
Day 08 : Parikrama / Kora Zuthulpuk, Purang
After 3 hours' comfortable walking (10km) along the river valley, the jeeps/vehicles will start the journey back. Join Those Pilgrims not accompanying for the Yatra Followed by Lunch and than board the transport will drive to Purang. One can have a Mansarovar lake parikarma by drive. Night halt at either Purang or Hilsa.

Day 09 : Fly Hilsa – Simikot- Kathmandu
Flight to Simikot by Helicopter. Same day flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Day 10 : Departure from Kathmandu

General Information
Weather
Tibetan terrain is dry, cold, windy and dusty and night is much colder than the day. The best months for a Mt. Kailash trip are from May to September. During this period, the maximum temperature will be 22oC and minimum temperature will drop to -10oC.
Fitness
Anyone who can walk for an average of 4-5 hours a day can make this trip. The itinerary is programmed to help get the clients acclimatisation to the gradual rise in altitude. All participants are advised to check their fitness before joining the trip.
Altitude
Altitude sickness may be felt above 3000m, but with the acclimatisation day and the gradual rise in altitude, you shouldn’t feel too much at discomfort. It’s always advisable to stay hydrated and drink lots of water.
Transportation
Transportation in Tibet will be by Land Cruiser or Tourist Coach. A support truck will be travelling along to carry all the camping gear, food provisions and luggage.
Accommodations
Four star hotel accommodation will be provided in Kathmandu. In Tibet, accommodation will be in lodges for every stay overnight, whereas during the Kailash Parikarma and at Mansarovar, there will be tents with foam mattresses and sleeping bags.
Sometimes the lodges in Tibet may not be sufficient to provide individual rooms, so you may have to share with fellow participants.
Food
While on the trip, all main meals, tea, coffee, juice and drinking chocolate are included. Food is prepared by our trained cook and is served hot – however while travelling, a packed lunch will be provided until the next stopover. Proper boiled water/mineral water will be provided.
Communication
There will be restricted means of communication during the trip, but the team leader will have a roaming phone to convey messages in an emergency which you can also use to call your home. Also telephone lines are available at various points of the journey.
Insurance
Each participant must be covered by travel and medical insurance that should include helicopter evacuation in an emergency. Please hand us a copy of your insurance.
Emergency
Bottled oxygen with mask and regulator for all emergency/medical purposes will be carried during the tour and the parikarma.
Prior to departure from Kathmandu each participant must leave a bond with Climb High in the form of an authorization letter. This enables Climb High, in the event of an emergency, to initiate emergency services and any other services necessary without delay.
Currency
In Tibet, only Chinese currency ‘Yuan’ is accepted. So it is advisable to exchange the currency you need before your departure for Tibet. You can exchange INR/ USD to Yuan in any money exchange in Kathmandu or at border. There are no ATM facilities available anywhere during the tour.

Each group will have a tour leader/guide accompanied by an experienced cook and the required number of helpers as per the group size. They are courteous and are fully committed in providing the best of their services. The tour guides are highly experienced with years of Kailash trips behind them. Similarly the cooks too are experienced and well trained to prepare all dishes.

Process, Term& condition
· Necessary to send color Scan copy of Passport of pilgrimage with name list 40 days before departure for permits processing.
· We need 6 Month valid ordinary Passport but Diplomat passport is not acceptable.
· We need Yatri’s scan copy of PAN card (Indian citizen only).
· Should non refundable deposit Rs 20,000 or USD $ 500 per person as advance before processing.
· Underutilized services due to unforeseen circumstances stands non refundable
· Indian pilgrimage- Should send Original Passport to our Delhi office By courier or speed post 15 days before from the departure date for China visa Process.
· NRI/Other Citizen’s Original Passport will collect after arrival in Kathmandu.
· Indian Pilgrims who are 70 Years or above:
1. Has to submit Medical Report from Indian Government Hospital within 6 months before your journey starts.
2. Two direct relatives required.
3. Has to deposit 1000$(USD) before the journey to the company (China GOVT) for any sudden demise.
4. Health examination is done before Parikrama by Chinese doctors. once you get the approval from doctor then only you can go for Parikrama.
· Before the Kailash departures, must clear all remaining Payment.
Cancellation Policy:
· Initial amount for booking is INR 20,000/- for Indians & USD 500 for NRI and Foreigners being non-refundable & nontransferable, once booked subsequently intended cancellations & delays caused due to natural, terrorist attack ,political or by the Pilgrim modification reason If the booking is cancelled 30 days prior to departure, INR 30,000 for Indians & USD 600 for foreigners would be charged as cancellation amount.
· If the booking is cancelled 20 days prior to departure, 50% of the tour cost will be into cancellation process.
· If the booking is cancelled 15 days prior to departure, there will be no refund.
If suddenly program has changed Due to weather problem, natural disaster, landslide, technical problem and political movement, Chinese reason, all additional expenses should be paid by themselves

· Insurance: Medical Insurance not compulsory for visa processing but will usefully you do insurance in case any health problem arises during travel.
· Oxygen cylinder: Our Company will provide oxygen cylinder in emergency. Usually, oxygen cylinder is not required. However, some pilgrimage we prefer to carry their own handy oxygen cylinders. You may buy small portable cylinder in Tibet. It may cost approx. Yuan 20-30 per cylinder.
· Food during Tour: Our cooks will be traveling with you during the entire trip.Our Staff will carry all necessary cooking items and will provide Indian vegetarian food during Yatra..
