These pilgrimage sites are the pious source points of four rivers Alaknanda (Badrinath), Mandakini(Kedarnath), Yamuna(Yamunotri) and Ganga(Gangotri). Thousands of pilgrims travel to this sacred land in the holy pursuit of cleansing of the sins. The idea of nirvana is quite celebrated among the pilgrims. It is believed one can attain heavenly connection or salvation while traveling to this holy land.  More than 3lakhs pilgrims travel to this spiritual land all across the world. Chardham temples open on the auspicious day of AkshayaTritiya and it continues till BhaiDuj (two days after Diwali). The Chardhamyatra stands out different in the quest of spirituality.

 

The significance of Chardham is too much as per mythology. For salvation, many follow the path of visiting pilgrimage sites. Very few get the opportunity to visit such unadulterated atmosphere covered with snow. The mountains are always considered as the site of complete salvation. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar

 

Meal: Breakfast and dinner

You will be meeting our driver at the entrance of the airport. From there you will be driving to Haridwar. After reaching and checking into the hotel, our representatives will give you detailed information about the itinerary.

 

Haridwar is the holy city that is believed to be the gateway to god. If you are a spiritual and religious thinker, then the spiritual aura of the city will allure you completely. In the evening, you can take a visit to the Mansa Devi temple. This beautiful temple shrine is located at the top of Bilwa Parbat. You will have to board a cable car to reach the premise of the temple. It is the temple dedicated to goddess Mansa. She is believed to be born out of the minds of Lord Shiva. She is the sister of the serpent named Vasuki. It is believed that with earnest sincerity, goddess Mansa fulfills the wishes of the devotees. You can also go to the banks of the river Ganges to see the beautiful evening aarti of the temple. The pilgrims will be completely compelled by the spiritual aura of the city. The gathering of thousands of pilgrims in the Har Ki Pairighat and evening aarti should be a visual pleasure to cherish for the entire life. Stay overnight at Haridwar.

 

Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi

After taking breakfast you will be driving to Guptkashi via the path of Rudraprayag and Devoprayag. On the way, you will get the glimpse of beautiful Mandakini at Tilwara. The river originates from the cold ice of Kedarnath. For Guptkashi, one has to drive along the course of river Mandakini. This Garhwali town of Guptkashi is located at a height of 1319m in Rudraprayag district. This ancient city of Guptakashi has been mentioned in Mahabharata as well. After the Kurukshetra war, on the advice of Krishna, Pandavas performed penance to seek pardon from Lord Shiva. The lord was upset with their genocide acts on the battlefield and decided to be disguised in the form of the bull, Nandi. As a bull, Lord Shiva was hiding in Uttarkashi. When Bhima recognized him, Lord Shiva vanished from that place. He again reappeared in Guptakashi. This is why this town got its name from the myth of hidden Kashi. You can go to visit Deoria Tal, a small lake located on the road of Ukhimath and Chopta. You will be amazed at the mountains covered green lush valleys. At night you will be staying at Guptakashi.

 

Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath to Guptkashi

 

Meal: BREAKFAST AND DINNER

Altitude: 3384mt

Distance: 30kms by road and 19kms trek (one way)

Mode of transport: private car and then trekking

For Kedarnathyatra, you can either board helicopter or you can trek.

By Helicopter: Morning our driver will transfer you to your prebooked Helipad. Back our car will drop you at Hotel for rest. (Note: helicopter ticket is not included in this package)

 

By Trek: Though it is difficult to go up and down from Sonprayag on the same day by trek. But it can be done if you take ponies or helicopter while going to Kedarnath. Do coordinate well with the driver, as due to parking issue driver cannot stay at Sonprayag also network issue is also there.

 

The religious shrine of Kedarnath is quite famous among the Shaivites. It is one of 12 jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The other name of Lord Shiva is called Kedar. As per mythological legends, as per the request made by Nara Narayan, Lord Shiva decided to dwell in Kedarnath. After the advice of Vyasa, Pandava brothers decided to meet Lord Shiva aftermath Kurukshetra war. But Lord Shiva decided to disguise himself as bull away from the brothers. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with the head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar. They persuaded the lord to forgive them in killing their kins. The first temple was built by Pandavas to worship the lord in Kedarnath.

 

In the inner sanctum of the temple, you will find the lingam along with the image of Parvati and Pandava brothers. The names of five temples are Badari-kear, Rudranatha, Kallesvara, Madhya Maheswara, and Tunganatha.

 

Day 4: Guptkashi to Badrinath

After taking breakfast you will be driving to Badrinath. Early in the morning, you can again take bath in the holy hot water spring of TaptKund before visiting the idol of Badrivishal. This holy land is quite famous for performing rituals for ancestors. You can perform pinddaanshraddh in respect to the ancestors. After the murtidarshan, you can go for sightseeing of other places like Bhimkund, Maatamurti, VyasGufa, Mana village, mouth of river Saraswati and Bhimkund. At night you will be staying at Badrinath.

 

Day 5: Badrinath to Joshimath to Rudraprayag

Altitude: 895mt

Distance: 160kms (7hours)

After taking breakfast, you will be driving to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. On the very day, you will be driving to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. Joshimath is located on the slopes along the confluence of two rivers called Dhauliganga and Alaknanda. Joshimath is believed to be the winter seat of the Lord Badrinath. The priests bring down the idol in Joshimath during winters for the pilgrims to access easily. You will be lucky enough to visit the confluence of Alaknanda and Nandakini River called Nandprayag. While worshiping other idols, Narsingh, one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu is widely worshiped over here. From here you will be driving to Rudraprayag, five confluences of Alaknanda River. At night you will be staying in Rudraprayag.

 

Day 6: Rudraprayag to Haridwar

The following day you will be driving to Haridwar via Rishikesh. This spiritual city will be an amazing opportunity for you to visit. Visiting this holy will remain incomplete without seeing Ram Jhula and LaxmanJhula. Both these are the suspended bridges on the river Ganges. Many religious ashrams, yoga centers, and temples are built across this river. Ram Jhula is comparatively bigger than the other bridge, LaxmanJhula. You will find rapids in this river, so many indulge in river rafting across the Ganges. After visiting this beautiful city of Uttarakhand, you will be driving back to Haridwar. Stay overnight at Haridwar.

 

Day 7: Haridwar to Delhi
