Muktinath Valley lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 kms. Northeast of Jomsom in the north central part of Nepal, at an altitude of about 3800 meters. Muktinath is god of Salvation, it holds great significance for all spiritual people in the south Asian sub-continent. This place is known as Mukti Kshetra, which means the “place of liberation or moksha”. It is believed that one should visit this temple after completing pilgrimage of four special religious sites, Chardham Yatra of India; Muktinath must be visited once.
The Journey to Muktinath will not be only for pilgrimage purpose.The ever flowing Kali Gandaki River and the roof of Nilgiri Himal adds beauty of the valley. Nothing can be compared with the joy one gets while being close to scenic beauty around Jomsom’s landscape.
The best time to visit Muktinath is during September, October and November when the weather is moderate neither too hot nor too cold.
Day 01 Kathmandu
Arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport pick up from airport, transfer to Hotel. Detail briefing of Muktinath Tour by our experienced and professional staff. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will proceed to visit Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath. Free for your own personal activities like shopping etc.
PASHUPATINATH - 5 kms / 3 miles east of Kathmandu City lies Pashupatinath temple, the holiest temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Nepal. Situated on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple is built in pagoda style with gilt roof and richly carved silver doors on four sides. Tourists are permitted to view the temple from the east bank of Bagmati river, entrance in the temple being strictly forbidden to all non-Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February/March.
BOUDHANATH - 8 kms / 5 miles east of Kathmandu City is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four-cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas (Buddhist priest) and Monasteries.
Day 03 Kathmandu to Pokhara
After breakfast drive to Pokhara -200 Km/5-6 hrs. En-route visit Manakamana Temple by cable car. Transfer to Pokhara Hotel. Evening Free for leisure. Overnight at hotel.
MANAKAMANA TEMPLE - Situated at the 1300-meter hill, 105 kilometers to the west of Kathmandu, the Manakamana Devi temple is a highly venerated sacred place of the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Parvati. The name Manakamana is derived from two words, Mana, meaning heart and Kamana, meaning wish. It is believed that the Goddess Bhagwati rewards those who make the pilgrimage to her shrine by granting their wishes, and she is especially popular with Newari newlyweds who pray for sons.
The Manakamana temple offers breathtaking views of the Manaslu, Himalchuli and Annapurna mountains to the north. The temple is set in a square, which is overlooked by an enormous sacred magnolia tree. Two popular festivals, Dasain (in September-October) and Nag Panchami (July – August), draw large numbers of pilgrims from throughout the country.
Day 04 Pokhara Jomsom – Muktinath
After breakfast transfer to Airport for Pokhara/Jomsom flight, flight duration is 25 mins After arrival at Jomsom airport, transfer to hotel. One needs to proceed to Jeep station which takes about 10-20 mins walk from the hotel to reach Jeep’s station for drive to Muktinath, which takes about 2 and half hour which is 20 kms. After arrival at Ranipauwa 3710 Mtr. One needs to walk to for about 40 minutes to reach Muktinath Temple.
Muktinath - Muktinath literally means “Lord of Salvation”. It is a site revered by both the Hindus and the Buddhists equally. Each year it witnesses thousands of devotees flocking for worship in a hope to receive moksha (salvation) from the cycle of birth and rebirth. I the pilgrims have holy bath on 108 waterspouts. and holy bath in Mukti Kunda (2 Kunda in front of Temple), Hindu devotees take bath under chilled water of 108 waterspouts “Muktidhara” & Mukti Kunda, This is generally used for holy dipping and is believed to hold the power to wash away negative karma and the results of one's past negative actions, Drive back to Jomsom by jeep after completing all the pujas, darshan and prayers. Overnight Stay at Jomsom.
Day 05 Jomsom Pokhara
Early in the morning, we fly back to Pokhara (25 mins) with the scenic mountain views including Dhaulagiri range and Tukuche Peak in the right side and Annapurna Range, Nilgiri Peak in left ride. After arrival transfer to hotel.
Half day sightseeing tour in Pokhara that covers Devi's Fall, Seti River Gorge, Mahendra Cave, Bindebaseni Temple and Gupteswor Mahadev. Overnight at hotel.
POKHARA - The rare combination of snow-clad peaks and snow fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the valley of Pokhara (210kms/131 miles from Kathmandu) one of the most picturesque natural attractions in Nepal. There may be no other place in the world from where Great Himalayas peaks can be admired from such a close distance. Pokhara has many exotic places of interest such as the Seti River Gorge, Mahendra Cave, Devi's Falls and the famous lake Phewa displaying stunning reflections of the majestic Fish Tail and Annapurna Himalayas on its water. It is base for all treks to Annapurna region.
Day 06 Pokhara Kathmandu
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu which takes about (6-7 hrs) 120kms from Pokhara.
Free time for leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 Departure
Free until departure to Airport to fly back home. End of our services.
