Kathmandu Lhasa Tibet Overland Tour

Early morning start drive from Kathmandu to Kodari (Nepali-Tibet border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside with spectacular Himalayan View including Mt. LANGTANG (7.246m), Mt. DORJE LKAHPA (6.975) and Mt. GAURI SHANHAR (7.145). From the Friendship Bridge you will drive up to China immigration check post and Tibetan guide will meet you at the border or check post. O/N stay in Zhangmu hotel or drive to Nyalam.

Drive over the Himalayas by way of the incredible Arniko Highway that connects Kathmandu with Lhasa. Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery enroute, visit mystical Buddhist monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. In Lhasa visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great Drepung Monastery and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar before flying back to Kathmandu (or onward to China). A choice of hotels are available in Lhasa and best hotels in other places. An unforgettable encounter with forbidden Tibet.

Day 01 : Kathmandu - Zhangmu (2300m) - 123 Kms.
Early morning drive to Kodari. After doing immigration and custom formalities drive uphill to Zhangmu Immigration Post. O/nt at Hotel Zhangmu

DAY 02 : Zhangmu - Xegar (4350m)- 244 Kms.
Drive to Xegar crossing Nyalamu Pass (3800m) & LALUNG LA PASS (5050m). This drive offers fantastic view of the high mountains including Everest (8848m). O/nt at Hotel Xegar.

DAY 03 : Xegar - Xigatse (3900m) - 244 Kms.
Drive (Approx 8 hrs) to Xigatse. Xigatse has the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen lama. O/nt at Hotel Xigatse.

DAY 04 : Xigatse - Gyantse (3900m)-90 Kms.
In the morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the free market of Xigatse. In the afternoon drive to Gyantse and visit Phalkor Monastery and Khumbum Stupa. O/nt. at Hotel Gyantse.

DAY 05 : Gyantse - Lhasa (3650m)- 259 Kms.
The drive to Lhasa takes 08 hours crossing two passes - THE KARO LA (5010 M.) AND KAMBA LA (4794m.) via Yamdrok Tso lake. O/nt in Lhasa.

DAY 06 & 07 : Lhasa Sightseeing Tour.
Visit The Potala & Norbulinka Palace, Drepung & Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar.

DAY 08 :
Transfer to Gonggor airport for your onward flight to Kathmandu.
