Janakpur- Hindu pilgrimage to visit in Nepal
Janakpur is one of the famous cities since an ancient time as it is known as the birth place of Goddess Sita who is known as wife of Lord Rama. Janakpur was the capital of the kingdom Mithila in an ancient time. Nowadays Janakpur is known as most interesting and cleanest place in Terai and become one of the popular Hindu pilgrimages in Nepal.
There are many scared places to be visited like Janaki Mandir which is the Mandir of goddess Sita, the place where Ram and Sita was knotted in marriage and was known as Ram Sita Bibaha Mandir. The Dhanush Sagar was situated near to the Ram Mandir which is temple of god Ram. Every year many Indian devotees visit at this temple to give respect to their goddess.
Art and craft of this place is famous with the name of Mithila art and craft. Women of this place are known with the name of Mithila women and always decorate walls of their house with beautiful figures and painting which always remember Hindu mythology.
Getting There
Visiting at Janakpur is really a great experience as tourist has to either use cycle rickshaws or they have to walk. Travel through car is not possible here due to lack of car at this place. Walking at this place is quite economical and also gives the feel of village this feeling is just another or different experience for tourists. Getting there at Janakpur is quite easy, tourist can use express bus for Janakpur or they use flight also for saving time. Bus will take 12 hours from Kathmandu and it is a journey of Kakarbhitta of 12 hours but the flight will take only 30-40 minutes and it is directly from Kathmandu..

For accommodation there are not much hotels in the way of tourist. Inspite hotel Welcome is one of the best hotels where rooms are available from range Rs 45 to Rs 500. The food is influenced with Indian food which is perfect food for Hindu devotees. Food consists of vegetarian stuff along with sweets. The bazaar near to the Janaki Mandir is full of restaurants, tea stall and sweet shops where tourists can easily get food.
